Do not write a resume which is hard to read, not organized well or too long. Even if your resume is quite well written, it won’t get a thorough reading at the first time through. A resume generally gets scanned for just 25 seconds. Scanning gets more difficult if it is hard to read or exceeds two pages.

- Apply some bold and italic typeface selectively to guide the reader’s eye.

2. Start with “Yourself”
Always start by including your personal information. The hiring manager wants to know your name, address, email address and phone number on the top of the first page of your resume. 3. Mention accomplishments and not just your Job Descriptions

- Focus on what you did earlier in the job, not what your job was.
- Include a line of job description first, then feel free to list your accomplishments.
- List the benefit of having done what you did.
- Accomplishments have to be unique to you, and not just a list of what someone else has done.
- Avoid using the non-specific descriptions of the jobs you applied for or held.
4. Quantify Your Accomplishments

Candidates tend to make too many general claims. Avoid using too much of such claims that do not market you. A resume is actually a marketing document which is designed to sell your skills. So, prevent yourself from rather just portraying a bio.

- Add the personal business contacts, such as people you have worked for or who have worked for you.
- Sales representatives you have dealt with in the past few years.
